Solana Beach has three different golf courses, and two have nearly the same name. One is a public executive course, while the other two are members-only country clubs.
Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course (public)
If you want a quick, scenic round near the coast, head to the Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course on Sun Valley Road. It’s an 18-hole, par-56 layout with 16 par-3s and 2 par-4s, stretches about 2,431 yards, and was designed by William Bell in 1973. Golf Range Magazine has recognized it as a “Top Short Course,” and you can book tee times as a daily-fee player.
What to expect: short holes, coastal breezes, and a fast pace of play compared with a full-length course. It’s a good choice for beginners who want forgiving yardages and for more experienced players working on their wedges and putting. You’ll find regular tee-time availability, instruction programs, and casual food and drink at the clubhouse.

Lomas Santa Fe Country Club (private)
Across the way on Lomas Santa Fe Drive is the private country club. It’s a members-only, 18-hole course offering a full club experience that includes dining and social amenities, tennis and pickleball, fitness facilities, and a pool.

Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club (private)
A few minutes inland from Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club is a private course for residents of the Rancho Santa Fe Covenant. Membership is tied to property ownership within the RSF Association; therefore, it is not open to the general public.
The course opened in 1929 and was designed by Max Behr. It’s classic, walkable parkland golf, playing to a par 72 at approximately 7,000 yards. The club is also known as the original home of Bing Crosby’s “Clambake,” the early pro-am that later evolved into today’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am
